Semifinal Round: Meaty Facts, Cheeky Format

The final four teams — Baylor, UCLA, Campbell, and Houston — faced off in a civil case of trademark infringement, but the format was a bit different this time around.

Rather than a jury trial, this case was a preliminary injunction hearing that needed competitors to adapt their style. Teams argued whether a temporary restraining order shutting down adult entertainment company Meaty Cheeks should be granted in light of confusion by customers of the restaurant chain down the street, Cheeky Meats.

All competitors adapted and fought hard throughout this meaty case, but only two can make it to the final round. Our 2024 NFTC semifinalists are: Campbell University School of Law and University of Houston Law Center!
