Final Round: Game, Set, Match

The final round of NFTC 2024 was quite the match! The final two teams argued a civil case of personal injury that perfectly aligned with current events in the sports world.

Tennis player Nico DeSilva hit a tennis ball that struck plaintiff Cam Gardner in the throat, and the jury had to decide whether DeSilva acted recklessly or intentionally in hitting the ball, or whether Gardner assumed risk of injury through voluntary participation at the match.

After much back and forth, the 2024 NFTC winner is UCLA School of Law! Congrats also to our finalist team, Baylor University Law School!
