Round 4: To Print or Not to Print?

For the last NFTC preliminary round, competitors cycled through a civil case of negligence.

They had to determine whether the defendant provided incomplete instructions for a 3D-printed bike mount that broke within a few hours, causing the plaintiff's bike to break beyond repair.

Or was the issue really that the plaintiff took on a 3D printing project they didn't have the skill set to perform?

This problem featured a fun, filamented twist: physical exhibits in the form of one properly printed and one improperly printed bike mount.
